Destination Asia Indonesia works with R.O.L.E. Foundation in Bali to provide free education, skills training and grass-roots community assistance to women, helping reduce poverty and safeguard the environment for a happier and healthier future. R.O.L.E. Foundation is a non-profit humanitarian organization whose aim is to improve the education, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in underprivileged circumstances while ensuring environmental sustainability – a cause we are very proud to support. Destination Asia Indonesia currently employs four students (3 full-time, 1 contract).
This is the third year we have supported the Bali WISE program with the aim to recruit and educate underprivileged women from Bali. The program has a profound effect by improving women’s literacy and giving them the opportunity to better their lives through education – leading to employment or the possibility of starting their own business.
To offset the carbon produced during the staff outing in November 2018, the team at Destination Asia Indonesia donated time to the ‘Coral Triangle Foundation: Coral & Mangrove plantation’ – part of a local carbon offset program that supports re-plantation of coral in the sea. The experience was fascinating as the team leaned about not only the importance of offsetting carbon, but also of coral in our seas. Destination Asia Indonesia will continue to support and promote the Coral Triangle Foundation.
